  • The Epoch 12V 314Ah Eco Series is a value-focused, high-capacity LiFePO4 battery for DIY solar builders, RV converters, off-grid cabin owners and mobile power systems. It stores 4.02kWh (nominal, at 12.8V) in a BCI Group 31 case and weighs 57 lb.

A 250A smart BMS, 750A peak discharge for up to 5 seconds, an IP54 dust- and splash-resistant enclosure and a 4,500+ cycle rating deliver a lot of energy storage in a simple, reliable package. It has no Bluetooth and no internal heating, which keeps the cost down, and it is backed by a 6-year manufacturer warranty when registered within 90 days of purchase.

    Key Features

    • 12V 314Ah Eco Series LiFePO4 (4.02kWh): A 12.8V nominal, 314Ah deep-cycle battery that stores 4.02kWh (4,019Wh, nominal) in a BCI Group 31 case, for RV solar, off-grid, marine house power and 12V battery banks. It is not a drop-in replacement for every lead-acid installation: check tray fit, terminal clearance, cable size, overcurrent protection and charger profile first.
    • Size and weight: 13.75 x 7.63 x 10 in (349 x 194 x 254 mm), 15.5 in (394 mm) long at the rope handles and 10.5 in (267 mm) high with terminal bolts; 57 lb (25.85 kg). Epoch makes a matching tray for the 12300A-H, 12334A-H and 12314-ECO.
    • 250A smart BMS: 250A maximum continuous discharge for properly designed 3,000W inverter-class systems (inverter DC input within 250A, about 3,200W), and 750A for up to 5 seconds for surge loads such as microwaves, induction cooktops and compressors. Deep-cycle only: not cranking-rated, so not for engine starting.
    • Charging: 250A maximum continuous charge current from all sources combined, up to 157A recommended, and 14.2V-14.4V bulk/absorption. Use a 12V LiFePO4 charge profile, such as the Epoch 12V 15A Lithium Battery Charger; a smaller charger simply takes longer.
    • Low-temperature charge protection: No internal heating. The BMS blocks charging below 0°C (32°F) to protect the cells, and the battery can still discharge down to -20°C (-4°F). Charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F to 131°F).
    • Smart BMS (20+ safety features): Protects against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit, and high and low temperature, with a high-temperature reconnect at 50°C (122°F). It does not replace a correctly sized fuse or DC-rated breaker near the positive terminal.
    • No Bluetooth: Monitor it with an external shunt-based battery monitor, such as the Victron SmartShunt 500A/50mV; voltage alone is not a precise state-of-charge reading on LiFePO4.
    • IP54 rated: Dust-protected and splash-resistant for everyday mobile, RV, marine and outdoor use. Not waterproof or submersible: do not submerge or pressure-wash it, or install it where standing water can collect.
    • Expandable: Up to 4 matched 12314-ECO batteries in series (24V, 36V or 48V system classes) and up to 16 in parallel (5,024Ah, 64.31kWh at 12V); the largest bank is 4S16P (64 batteries: 51.2V, 5,024Ah, 257.23kWh).
    • 4,500+ cycle life and low maintenance: No watering, acid service or routine lead-acid maintenance; routine inspections and terminal checks (8-12 Nm) keep it safe. 4,500+ cycles is over 12 years at one full cycle a day, rated at the depth of discharge, charge rate and temperature stated on the datasheet, to its end-of-life capacity.
    • 6-year manufacturer warranty: Register within 90 days of purchase for full warranty coverage.

Power heavy loads with a 250A smart BMS

Built for 3,000W inverter-class systems, RV appliances, solar storage and off-grid power.

This high-capacity 12V deep-cycle battery includes a robust 250A continuous BMS, allowing one battery to support demanding 12V loads when the inverter, cabling, fusing and low-voltage settings are properly sized. At 12.8V x 250A, the battery can supply roughly 3,200W before inverter efficiency losses, making it a strong fit for many 3,000W inverter systems.

The 750A peak discharge rating for 5 seconds helps handle short surge loads from equipment such as microwaves, induction cooktops, compressors and other off-grid appliances. This model is a deep-cycle battery and should not be used for engine starting unless Epoch confirms compatibility.

Massive scalability: series and parallel expansion

    Build a 12V off-grid battery bank or scale to 24V, 36V or 48V systems.

The 12V 314Ah Eco Series supports up to four batteries in series for higher-voltage system designs and up to sixteen batteries in parallel for large 12V capacity expansion. A full 16-battery parallel bank provides up to 5,024Ah and 64.31kWh of stored energy; the largest series-parallel bank, 4S16P (64 batteries), is 51.2V, 5,024Ah and 257.23kWh.

For any large off-grid battery bank, use matched batteries of the same model, age, capacity and state of charge. Balanced wiring, proper busbars, fusing, disconnects, inverter settings and LiFePO4-compatible charging equipment are required.

Built to last: 4,500+ cycles and essential safety

Epoch's product page and data sheet list this model at 4,500+ cycles. It is designed for maintenance-free LiFePO4 service with advanced BMS protection, low-temperature charge protection, over-current protection, short-circuit protection, and high/low temperature disconnects.

    • Smart low-temperature protection: The Eco Series does not include active internal heating, but it does include a low-temperature charge disconnect. Below 0°C (32°F), the BMS blocks incoming charge current to help prevent permanent lithium cell damage, while still allowing discharge down to -20°C (-4°F). Charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F and 131°F).
    • IP54 splash-resistant case and 6-year warranty: The IP54 enclosure is dust-protected and splash-resistant (not waterproof or submersible), making it a practical choice for RV compartments, dry boat consoles, battery boxes, vans, cabins and protected off-grid installations. The Eco Series is backed by a 6-year manufacturer warranty; register within 90 days of purchase for full coverage.

  • What is the difference between the Eco Series and the Epoch Essential and Pro Series?

The Eco Series is designed to deliver maximum capacity and power at the most competitive price point. It does not include Bluetooth monitoring or internal heating pads, and it uses an IP54 weather-resistant enclosure with a 6-year warranty. Essential and Pro models add more premium features such as Bluetooth, active heating, higher IP ratings or longer warranty coverage, depending on the model. If you want raw, reliable power and large capacity on a budget, the Eco Series is the value-focused choice.

What size inverter can this 12V 314Ah battery run?

The 250A continuous BMS allows the battery to continuously output roughly 3,200 watts at 12.8V before inverter efficiency losses. That makes it a strong match for many 3,000W inverter systems when the cables, fusing, inverter settings and installation are sized correctly. The 750A rating covers surges of up to 5 seconds only, such as a microwave, induction cooktop or compressor starting. Size the system by the inverter's DC input current, which must stay within 250A; usable AC output is lower because of conversion losses.

Can I connect these 314Ah batteries in series or parallel?

Yes. The 12V 314Ah Eco Series supports up to 4 batteries in series for 24V, 36V or 48V systems, and up to 16 batteries in parallel for expanded 12V capacity; the largest bank is 4S16P (64 batteries: 51.2V, 5,024Ah, 257.23kWh). Use batteries of the same model, age, capacity and state of charge, fully charge each one before connecting it, and use matched cabling, proper fusing and charging equipment rated for the full bank voltage.

Does this battery have cold-weather protection?

Yes. The Eco Series does not include active internal heating pads, but it does include low-temperature charge protection. Below 0°C (32°F), the BMS blocks incoming charge current to help protect the LiFePO4 cells, and the battery can still discharge down to -20°C (-4°F). Charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F and 131°F): move a cold battery somewhere warmer and let it stabilize before charging, and never bypass the protection.

Is the Eco Series battery waterproof?

The 12V 314Ah Eco Series has an IP54-rated weather-resistant enclosure. It is protected against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for RV compartments, battery boxes, off-grid cabins and protected marine spaces. It is not waterproof or submersible: do not submerge or pressure-wash it, or install it where standing water can collect around the battery.

How much does this battery weigh compared to lead-acid?

The 12V 314Ah battery weighs 57 lb. Comparable lead-acid or AGM banks with similar practical usable energy can weigh far more and take up significantly more space, especially because lead-acid batteries are commonly limited to about 50% usable depth of discharge. The exact weight savings depends on the lead-acid bank being replaced.

Does the 314Ah Eco Series include Bluetooth or internal heating?

No. This Eco Series model is built for simplified, high-capacity value. It does not include Bluetooth monitoring or internal self-heating. Use an external shunt-based battery monitor, such as the Victron SmartShunt 500A/50mV, if your system needs app-based visibility; voltage alone is not a precise state-of-charge reading on LiFePO4.

What charger settings should I use?

Use a LiFePO4-compatible charger, such as the Epoch 12V 15A Lithium Battery Charger, or a converter, inverter charger, solar charge controller or DC-to-DC charger programmed for LiFePO4. Recommended settings are 14.2V-14.4V bulk/absorption, ending when the current falls to C/20 (about 15.7A) or after 15 minutes, float disabled (preferred) or 13.3V-13.6V, 13.2V re-bulk, equalization disabled and temperature compensation disabled. Charge at up to 157A (recommended) and never more than 250A from all sources combined; a smaller charger is suitable, it simply takes longer.

After the free coverage ends and through Year 6, if the battery has a covered defect Epoch offers a new replacement of the same model (or a current Epoch model of equal or greater capacity and function) at 40% off Epoch's MSRP on the date of the offer. The offer covers one replacement per defective battery, bought directly from Epoch, and you pay the discounted price, any tax and shipping.

    When Coverage Starts
Coverage starts on the date of your original purchase. To confirm that date, register the product with Epoch within 90 days of purchase or keep your proof of purchase (an invoice or receipt showing the product, purchase date and seller). If you can provide neither, coverage starts on the manufacturing date recorded for the product's serial number. A repaired or replacement product is covered for the rest of the original warranty period.

    What Is Not Covered
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship only. It does not cover damage or failure caused by installation, wiring or system design that doesn't follow the manual (including undersized or damaged cables, poor crimps, loose or corroded connections and incorrect fusing); reverse polarity, short circuits or faults in the connected electrical system; series or parallel connections beyond the manual's limits, or mixing batteries of different models, capacities, ages or states of charge; a product not secured as the manual requires; charging outside the manual's voltage, current or temperature limits; discharge above the rated current, or engine starting with a battery not listed as a starting or dual-purpose battery; over-discharge, storage fully discharged, or storage for more than 3 months without recharging; accidents, impact, fire, flood, power surges, submersion or exposure beyond the product's IP rating; opening, modification or repair by anyone other than Epoch or an Epoch-authorized provider; removed or altered serial numbers; normal capacity loss and wear consistent with age and use; or cosmetic damage that doesn't affect performance. Using chargers and other equipment from other brands does not affect coverage by itself.

    Obtaining Warranty Service
Start a claim through the Epoch Warranty Portal before the warranty period ends, with the model, serial number, proof of purchase or registration, a description of the problem and any photos, videos or app screenshots. If the claim qualifies, Epoch issues an RMA number with packing and shipping instructions; do not ship a product without an RMA. Epoch inspects and tests the product, typically within 3–10 business days after it arrives, and then repairs or replaces it, or makes the discount offer where applicable.

    Shipping
You pay to ship the battery to Epoch; Epoch pays to ship an approved warranty repair or free replacement back to you. For discount replacements you pay shipping on the replacement battery. Packaging must follow the RMA instructions (lithium batteries are regulated hazardous materials in transport).

Visit Epoch's Warranty Page to review the complete warranty terms (effective October 17, 2026).

  • Shipping is typically through freight carriers and the actual shipping time is contingent on your location and the specific warehouse dispatching your order. Please allow for a 1-3 business day processing period before shipment, and an estimated delivery time of up to 7 business days. Your confirmation email will include delivery details and we will send you a tracking number as soon as one is available. If you ordered several separate items, you may receive multiple tracking numbers. Once the item has been shipped, the freight service will contact you to coordinate the date and time of delivery. If you require any special accommodations during delivery please let us know as soon as possible and let the delivery company know when arranging the appointment.

Typically, orders will be dropped off either curbside or outside your front door or garage. It is your responsibility to bring the order inside or to its final destination and to remove any existing items.

Depending on the item, parts may be shipped in multiple boxes, and assembly may be required. When your order is delivered, please check that you have all pieces of the item and that nothing is damaged. If your order is damaged during transit and external damage is visible, note the damage immediately, write it on the delivery documents, take photos and/or videos, and refuse shipment. If there is no visible external damage, accept the package but note “subject to concealed damage” on the delivery documents. Any damage upon delivery needs to be reported within 24 hours of delivery or you may not be eligible for a refund. For additional information on submitting claims, as well as incorrect item exchanges, and replacements, please see our Refund Policy.
