  • The Epoch 12V 460Ah V2 Elite Series (C12460A) is a 12.8V LiFePO4 battery with 460Ah and 5,888Wh (5.89kWh) of nominal stored energy in one managed case with one BMS, so a large house bank needs fewer interconnects and cleaner routing than a bank of smaller batteries. It is a deep-cycle battery for house power and energy storage, not engine starting.

Native Victron CAN communication, an IP67 dust-tight and immersion-rated case, internal self-heating, Bluetooth monitoring and 230A continuous output make it a single-case alternative to wiring several smaller batteries together for serious RV, marine and off-grid solar systems. It is backed by an 11-year limited manufacturer warranty.

    Key Features

    • 12V 460Ah, 5.89kWh: 12.8V nominal, 460Ah and 5,888Wh of nominal stored energy in one managed case with one BMS. A deep-cycle battery for house power and energy storage, not engine starting.
    • Dimensions and fit: 20.86 in L x 8.65 in W x 12.06 in H (529.8 x 219.8 x 306.3 mm; the height includes the terminal posts), 97 lb (approx. 44 kg). Install it upright. Replacing a Group 8D lead-acid battery? Confirm tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance first; the optional Epoch V2 & V2-T Mounting Hardware (8D battery bracket, sold separately) fastens to the six M8 nuts on the case.
    • Native Victron communications: CAN bus at 500 kbit/s to a compatible Victron GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX Mk2). The battery reports its status and charge limits, and with DVCC on it sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers. The communication harness is included; set the DIP switches and GX settings per the manual.
    • Elite performance: 230A continuous discharge and 230A continuous charge (0.5C, also the recommended rate), about 2,944W DC at 12.8V before inverter losses. Peak discharge of 500A for 30 seconds and 1,300A for 1 second for inverter surge; up to 400A charge for 5 seconds.
    • Bluetooth battery intelligence: Bluetooth 4.0 through the included battery gauge. The Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android) shows state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperatures, history and warnings, and installs firmware updates over the air. External power button and battery gauge included.
    • Heated for extreme climates: LiFePO4 cells must not be charged below 0°C (32°F). When a charger is connected and the cells are too cold, the BMS holds off charging while the internal heater, powered by the charge source, warms them; charging resumes at 5°C (41°F). With self-heating, charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient. Discharge works down to -20°C (-4°F).
    • IP67 rated enclosure: Dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes. Not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion: install it where it stays dry in normal use, with all harness connectors fully seated.
    • Scalable banks: Up to 16 batteries in parallel (7,360Ah, 94.21kWh) or up to 4 in series (51.2V nominal), using matched C12460A batteries of the same age, capacity and state of charge. Series-parallel arrays are not covered by the published DIP switch settings; contact Epoch before designing one.
    • Advanced smart BMS and certifications: Over/under-voltage, overcurrent, short-circuit and high/low temperature protection, and a 400A internal fuse (UL 60691). UL 1642, UL 9540A and IEC 62619:2022 cells; CE and RoHS. The internal fuse does not replace system protection: install a DC-rated fuse or breaker close to the battery positive.
    • 3,500+ cycles and 11-year warranty: 3,500+ cycles to 70% remaining capacity at 25°C. Maintenance-free: no watering or equalizing, though regular inspection and 8-12 N·m terminal torque checks keep the system safe. Backed by an 11-year limited manufacturer warranty; register within 90 days of purchase.

    Seamless Victron CANbus Communication

A premium 12V battery for Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX and compatible Victron-based power systems.

For advanced RV, marine and off-grid installers, Victron integration is one of the biggest reasons to choose the V2 Elite. The battery's BMS CAN communication connects with compatible Victron GX devices, so your system sees battery status, alarms and BMS-managed charging behavior from the Victron ecosystem.

Configured with the proper cable, DIP switch settings and DVCC setup, it reduces guesswork in complex power systems while still giving you app-based Bluetooth monitoring as a secondary battery dashboard.

    • Massive 5.89kWh in a single case: Instead of building a bank from four or more smaller 100Ah-class batteries, you get 5,888Wh / 5.89kWh of nominal stored energy in one 20.86 x 8.65 x 12.06 in case with one BMS. Fewer batteries means fewer interconnect cables, fewer resistance points, cleaner routing and more usable cargo space in an RV, boat, van or off-grid enclosure.
    • Built-in heating for sub-zero environments: LiFePO4 cells must not be charged below 0°C (32°F). When shore power, solar, an alternator charger or an inverter/charger starts charging and the cells are too cold, the BMS holds off normal charging while the internal heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells; charging resumes once they reach 5°C (41°F). With self-heating, charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient, and discharge is available down to -20°C (-4°F) without heating.
    • IP67 enclosure and Bluetooth monitoring: The sealed IP67 case is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes. It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion, so install it where it stays dry in normal use, with all harness connectors fully seated. Bluetooth 4.0 monitoring through the included battery gauge shows state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperatures and warnings in the Epoch Li-Ion app, which also installs firmware updates over the air.

Native Victron CANbus comms, Bluetooth visibility and one large-format BMS-managed pack.

The V2 Elite is not just a high-capacity battery. It is a system component for premium power builds where communication, monitoring, IP67 sealing, cold-weather charging, safety components and clean installation matter. Use it as the center of a serious 12V RV battery upgrade, 12V marine lithium bank or off-grid 12V solar battery system.

Fitment, Charging and Victron Setup Note

Verify the full electrical system before installation.

Always confirm tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance (especially when replacing a Group 8D lead-acid battery), cable clearance, terminal torque (8-12 N·m), inverter size, overcurrent protection (a DC-rated fuse or breaker close to the battery positive; the internal 400A fuse does not replace it), busbar ratings, charger compatibility, alternator charging strategy and communication setup before installation. For Victron-integrated systems, follow Epoch's communication harness, DIP switch, DVCC and GX device setup instructions. For series or parallel banks, use matched batteries of the same model, age, capacity and state of charge.

    Compatible Accessories

    • Epoch V2 & V2-T Mounting Hardware (8D battery bracket, sold separately)

    What Can It Run?

Planning estimates for a single 5.89kWh battery, using 80% of nominal energy (about 4,710 Wh).

    Load Estimated Run Time
    2,944W DC load (4,710 Wh / 2,944 W) About 1.6 hours
    1,000W DC load (4,710 Wh / 1,000 W) About 4.7 hours
    500W DC load (4,710 Wh / 500 W) About 9.4 hours
    100W DC load (4,710 Wh / 100 W) About 47 hours

Estimates are for a constant DC load at the battery terminals and use 80% of nominal energy, a planning figure that leaves reserve for battery life and cold conditions. Inverter losses, cable losses and temperature reduce runtime.

    • 1 x External power button
    • 1 x Bluetooth battery gauge (state-of-charge meter)
  • Recommended Charging Settings

Program every charge source to these settings, including Victron equipment, so charging stays correct if CAN communication is lost.

    • Charger type: lithium (LiFePO4) compatible, CC/CV
    • Bulk / absorption voltage: 14.2V
    • Absorption time: 15 minutes per battery in the bank (for example, 60 minutes for four batteries)
    • Float voltage: 13.5V
    • Re-bulk voltage: 13.3V
    • Equalization: disabled
    • Temperature compensation: disabled (0 mV/°C)
    • Charge current: 230A (0.5C) per battery, recommended and maximum continuous; up to 400A for 5 seconds
    • BMS high-voltage cutoff: 14.6V. Never charge above 14.6V, and do not use lead-acid equalization, desulfation or repair modes
    • SOC recalibration: 14.6V (manual); a custom algorithm under Victron communication
    • Charging temperature: 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F) cell temperature; with self-heating, charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient. Below freezing the heater warms the cells first, so expect a delay before charge current flows
    • Alternators: use a DC-DC charger, or an alternator regulator set up for lithium, and follow the alternator manufacturer's guidance

    Victron GX setup

    • Set the DIP switches on every battery (see the user manual).
    • Fit the harness plug with the waterproof bung into the Master battery's blue port.
    • For a bank, run an RJ45 cable from the Master's black port to Slave 1's blue port, then from Slave 1's black port to Slave 2's blue port, and so on, up to 16 batteries in parallel.
    • Plug the harness's grey RJ45 plug into the GX device's BMS-CAN port (Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX). On a Cerbo GX Mk2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2.
    • If you use a VE.Can port, open Settings > Services > VE.Can on the GX device and set the port speed to 500 kbit/s.
    • Switch on the batteries.
    • On the GX device, turn on DVCC, set the controlling BMS to Epoch and set the battery monitor to Epoch.
    • Check that the Epoch battery appears in the device list, that the number of modules online equals the number of batteries installed, and that the installed capacity (Ah) equals the bank capacity, for example 1,840Ah for four batteries.
    • While charging (not while inverting), the inverter tile shows External control. Under DVCC the system charges to 14.2V, holds absorption for at least about 15 minutes per battery, then floats at 13.5V.
    • Manually program the MultiPlus, Quattro and every other charge source to the recommended settings as a fallback.

  • Do I need a special cable to connect this battery to my Victron Cerbo GX?

For a single battery, no. The included communication harness has a grey RJ45 plug that goes into the GX device's BMS-CAN port (Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX); on a Cerbo GX Mk2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2 and set the port speed to 500 kbit/s. For a bank, add RJ45 cables that link each battery's black port to the next battery's blue port, up to 16 batteries in parallel. Set the DIP switches on every battery, then turn on DVCC and set the controlling BMS and the battery monitor to Epoch before commissioning the system.

Can I wire multiple 12V 460Ah batteries together for a larger solar bank?

Yes. It supports large system expansion when installed according to Epoch guidelines. You can connect up to 16 batteries in parallel for higher amp-hour capacity, such as two batteries for 920Ah / 11.78kWh of nominal storage. Use matched batteries, balanced cabling, properly sized busbars, fusing and lithium-compatible charging equipment.

What is the continuous discharge rate of the 12V 460Ah battery?

The V2 Elite is rated for 230A maximum continuous discharge, with 500A for 30 seconds and 1,300A peak output for 1 second. In a properly designed 12V system that makes it suitable for large inverter-class loads, marine house banks, RV power systems and off-grid storage. Always size cables, fuses, busbars and inverters around the full system current.

How does the single 460Ah design compare to multiple 100Ah batteries?

A single 460Ah battery simplifies large 12V systems by reducing the number of interconnect cables, terminals, parallel balance points and physical batteries. Instead of building a bank from several 100Ah-class batteries, you get 5.89kWh of storage in one managed case with one BMS, Bluetooth monitoring, Victron communication, internal heating and IP67 protection.

  • Epoch Batteries Limited Warranty

11-Year Limited Warranty: 5 Years Free Repair or Replacement

    • Years 1–5: free repair or replacement (Epoch chooses which)
    • Years 6–11: 40% off MSRP on a replacement battery

Epoch Batteries warrants this product to the original end-user purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for the warranty period above, when it is installed, operated, charged, stored and maintained as its manual describes. The warranty is not transferable and ends if the product is sold or given to someone else.

    How the 40% Discount Works
After the free coverage ends and through Year 11, if the battery has a covered defect Epoch offers a new replacement of the same model (or a current Epoch model of equal or greater capacity and function) at 40% off Epoch's MSRP on the date of the offer. The offer covers one replacement per defective battery, bought directly from Epoch, and you pay the discounted price, any tax and shipping.

    When Coverage Starts
Coverage starts on the date of your original purchase. To confirm that date, register the product with Epoch within 90 days of purchase or keep your proof of purchase (an invoice or receipt showing the product, purchase date and seller). If you can provide neither, coverage starts on the manufacturing date recorded for the product's serial number. A repaired or replacement product is covered for the rest of the original warranty period.

    What Is Not Covered
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship only. It does not cover damage or failure caused by installation, wiring or system design that doesn't follow the manual (including undersized or damaged cables, poor crimps, loose or corroded connections and incorrect fusing); reverse polarity, short circuits or faults in the connected electrical system; series or parallel connections beyond the manual's limits, or mixing batteries of different models, capacities, ages or states of charge; a product not secured as the manual requires; charging outside the manual's voltage, current or temperature limits; discharge above the rated current, or engine starting with a battery not listed as a starting or dual-purpose battery; over-discharge, storage fully discharged, or storage for more than 3 months without recharging; accidents, impact, fire, flood, power surges, submersion or exposure beyond the product's IP rating; opening, modification or repair by anyone other than Epoch or an Epoch-authorized provider; removed or altered serial numbers; normal capacity loss and wear consistent with age and use; or cosmetic damage that doesn't affect performance. Using chargers and other equipment from other brands does not affect coverage by itself.

    Obtaining Warranty Service
Start a claim through the Epoch Warranty Portal before the warranty period ends, with the model, serial number, proof of purchase or registration, a description of the problem and any photos, videos or app screenshots. If the claim qualifies, Epoch issues an RMA number with packing and shipping instructions; do not ship a product without an RMA. Epoch inspects and tests the product, typically within 3–10 business days after it arrives, and then repairs or replaces it, or makes the discount offer where applicable.

    Shipping
You pay to ship the battery to Epoch; Epoch pays to ship an approved warranty repair or free replacement back to you. For discount replacements you pay shipping on the replacement battery. Packaging must follow the RMA instructions (lithium batteries are regulated hazardous materials in transport).

Visit Epoch's Warranty Page to review the complete warranty terms (effective October 17, 2026).
