A deep-cycle battery for house power and energy storage, not engine starting.
-
Dimensions & Fit: 20.86" L x 8.65" W x 12.06" H (529.8 x 219.8 x 306.3 mm; the height includes the terminal posts), 97 lb (approx. 44 kg). Install it upright. Replacing a Group 8D lead-acid battery? Confirm tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance against these dimensions first; the optional Epoch V2 & V2-T Mounting Hardware (8D battery bracket, sold separately) fastens to the threaded inserts on the case.
-
Native VICTRON Communications: CAN bus at 500 kbit/s to a compatible Victron GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX Mk2). The battery reports its status and charge limits, and with DVCC on it sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers. The communication harness is included; set the DIP switches and GX settings per the manual.
-
Elite Performance Specifications: 110A continuous discharge and 110A continuous charge, about 2,816W DC at 25.6V before inverter losses. Peak discharge of 300A and up to 200A charge for short durations; the BMS disconnects at 280A discharge or 200A charge after 5 seconds. If an inverter's continuous DC input can exceed 110A, add batteries in parallel.

The Ultimate 24V Power Solution: Key Features
A premium 24V marine lithium battery, off-grid 24V solar battery, 24V RV battery upgrade, and 24V trolling motor battery platform.
Native Victron Integration via CANBus
Use this Victron compatible lithium battery with compatible Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, and other GX device installations. CANBus battery communication lets the BMS share battery data with the Victron system for smarter monitoring and DVCC-controlled charging when configured according to Epoch guidance.
Cold Weather Ready: Built-in Self-Heating
LiFePO4 cells must not be charged below 0°C (32°F). When a charge source is connected and the cells are too cold, the BMS holds off normal charging while the internal heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells; charging resumes once they reach 5°C (41°F). With self-heating, charging is supported from -22°F / -30°C ambient, and discharge is available down to -4°F / -20°C without heating.
Smart App Monitoring via Bluetooth
Bluetooth through the included battery gauge connects to the Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android), so users can monitor state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperatures, history and warnings directly from a smartphone, and install firmware updates over the air. With several batteries, the dashboard also shows bank totals, with a toggle between series and parallel views.
IP67 Enclosure & Rugged Durability
The sealed IP67 enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes. It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion, so in marine compartments, RV bays, off-grid cabins, and overland rigs install it upright and secured against vibration, where it stays dry in normal use, with all harness connectors fully seated.
Unmatched Power, Scalability & Safety
High-output performance for larger 24V loads and expandable energy banks.
Run Heavy Loads: 110A Continuous Discharge
With 110A continuous discharge (about 2,816W DC at 25.6V before inverter losses) and 300A peak discharge for short durations, the Epoch 24V 230Ah V2 supports 24V inverter systems, RV air conditioning, marine house loads, 24V trolling motors, and other properly designed high-demand systems. If an inverter’s continuous DC input can exceed 110A, add batteries in parallel so the current per battery stays within the rating.
Wire Up to 16 Batteries in Parallel
Scale from a single 5.89kWh lithium battery to energy storage banks of up to 16 batteries in parallel (3,680Ah, 94.21kWh). The V2 Elite platform can also support up to 2 batteries in series for a 51.2V nominal (48V-class) string when installed according to Epoch’s guidance. Series-parallel arrays are not covered by the published DIP switch settings; contact Epoch before designing one.
Certified Components & 11-Year Warranty
The V2 Elite platform includes advanced BMS protection, a 270A internal fuse (UL 60691), UL 1642, UL 9540A and IEC 62619:2022 cells, 3,500+ cycle life, maintenance-free operation, and an 11-year limited manufacturer warranty.
Replacing a Group 8D battery?
This battery is designed for high-capacity 24V deep-cycle energy storage, not engine starting. Confirm tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance against 20.86 × 8.65 × 12.06 in, and verify cable clearance, terminal layout, charger settings, inverter requirements, communication setup, and installation requirements before replacing an existing battery bank. The optional Epoch V2 & V2-T Mounting Hardware (8D battery bracket, sold separately) fastens to the threaded inserts on the case.
Victron-ready system communication
Built to communicate directly with compatible Victron GX devices.
The V2 Elite platform uses CANBus communication at 500 kbit/s so the battery BMS can share data with compatible Victron GX devices; with DVCC on, the battery sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers. For Victron installations, configure the communication harness, DIP switches, BMS-CAN or VE.Can port speed, DVCC, controlling BMS, and battery monitor according to Epoch setup instructions. Program every charge source, including Victron equipment, to Epoch’s recommended 24V charging settings so charging stays correct if CAN communication is lost; without a GX device, use lithium-compatible charging equipment programmed to the same settings.
IP67 enclosure protection
Dust-tight. Immersion-rated. Install it where it stays dry.
The IP67-rated enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes (IEC 60529). It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion: in RV, marine, overland, and off-grid installations, mount the battery upright and secured, where it stays dry in normal use, away from standing water and spray, with protected cabling and all harness connectors fully seated.

Recommended Charging Settings
Program every charge source to these settings, including Victron equipment, so charging stays correct if CAN communication is lost:
- Charger type: Lithium (LiFePO4) compatible, CC/CV
- Bulk / absorption voltage: 28.4V
- Absorption time: 15 minutes per battery in the bank (for example, 60 minutes for four batteries)
- Float voltage: 27.0V
- Re-bulk voltage: 26.6V
- Equalization: Disabled
- Temperature compensation: Disabled (0 mV/°C)
- Charge current: 110A per battery maximum continuous; size every charge source, and the total of all sources, to stay within it. The user guide lists 200A as the maximum for short periods; the BMS charge over-current protection acts at 200A after 5 seconds.
- BMS high-voltage cutoff: 29.2V. Never charge above 29.2V, and do not use lead-acid equalization, desulfation or repair modes.
- Charging temperature: 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F) cell temperature; with self-heating, charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient. Below freezing the heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells first, so expect a delay before charge current flows; charging resumes when the cells reach 5°C (41°F).
- Alternators: use a DC-DC charger, or an alternator regulator set up for lithium, and follow the alternator manufacturer's guidance.
Victron GX setup
- Set the DIP switches on every battery (see the user manual).
- Fit the harness plug with the waterproof bung into the Master battery's blue port.
- For a bank, run an RJ45 cable from the Master's black port to Slave 1's blue port, then from Slave 1's black port to Slave 2's blue port, and so on, up to 16 batteries in parallel.
- Plug the harness's grey RJ45 plug into the GX device's BMS-CAN port (Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX). On a Cerbo GX Mk2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2.
- If you use a VE.Can port, open Settings > Services > VE.Can on the GX device and set the port speed to 500 kbit/s.
- Switch on the batteries.
- On the GX device, turn on DVCC, set the controlling BMS to Epoch and set the battery monitor to Epoch.
- Check that the Epoch battery appears in the device list, that the number of modules online equals the number of batteries installed, and that the installed capacity (Ah) equals the bank capacity, for example 920Ah for four batteries.
- While charging (not while inverting), the inverter tile shows External control. Under DVCC the system charges to 28.4V, holds absorption for at least about 15 minutes per battery, then floats at 27.0V.
- Manually program the MultiPlus, Quattro and every other charge source to the settings above as a fallback.

Does the Epoch 24V 230Ah V2 connect directly to my Victron system?
Yes. The battery communicates over CAN bus at 500 kbit/s with compatible Victron GX devices, including Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX and Cerbo GX Mk2 installations. The included communication harness has a grey RJ45 plug for the GX device’s BMS-CAN port; on a Cerbo GX Mk2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2 and set the port speed to 500 kbit/s. For a bank, RJ45 cables link each battery’s black port to the next battery’s blue port, up to 16 batteries in parallel. Set the DIP switches on every battery, then turn on DVCC and set the controlling BMS and the battery monitor to Epoch: the battery then reports its status and sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers.
How does the self-heating feature work in freezing weather?
LiFePO4 cells must not be charged below 0°C (32°F). When a charge source is connected and the cells are too cold, the BMS holds off normal charging while the internal heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells. Charging resumes automatically when the cells reach 5°C (41°F), so expect a delay before the state of charge starts to rise. With self-heating, charging is supported from an ambient temperature as low as -22°F / -30°C, and discharge is available down to -4°F / -20°C without heating.
Can I connect these 24V batteries in series or parallel?
Yes. The Epoch 24V 230Ah V2 Elite battery supports up to 16 batteries in parallel for a 24V bank of up to 3,680Ah (94.21kWh), or up to 2 batteries in series for a 51.2V nominal (48V-class) string that reaches 58.4V at full charge, so every charger, inverter, fuse, switch and conductor must be rated for the string voltage. Use matched C24230A batteries of the same age, capacity, and state of charge, set the DIP switches for the bank, and follow Epoch’s installation and communication setup instructions. Series-parallel arrays are not covered by the published DIP switch settings; contact Epoch before designing one.
Is the Epoch 24V 230Ah battery suitable for marine environments?
Yes, for marine house banks, yachts and cruising boats, 24V trolling motors and marine electronics. The IP67 enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes, but it is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion. Install the battery upright and secured against vibration and wave impact, in a dry, ventilated location away from standing water and spray, with protected cabling and all harness connectors fully seated. It is a deep-cycle battery, not a cranking battery for engine starting.
What size inverter can a single 24V 230Ah V2 battery run?
A single battery is rated for 110A continuous discharge, about 2,816W DC at 25.6V before inverter losses. The DC input current is roughly the AC load divided by (battery voltage × inverter efficiency): a 2,000W load through an inverter assumed to be 90% efficient draws about 2,000 ÷ (25.6 × 0.90) ≈ 87A. If the inverter’s continuous DC input can exceed 110A, add batteries in parallel so the current per battery stays within the rating, and size cables, fusing and the disconnect for the maximum system current.
What information does the Epoch Bluetooth app provide?
Bluetooth runs through the included battery gauge and connects to the Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android), where the battery appears as C24230A_ followed by its serial number. The dashboard shows state of charge, voltage, current, power, remaining capacity and warnings for each battery, and bank totals with several batteries. The Cells screen shows each cell’s voltage, the cell balance and the temperature readings; History graphs voltage, current, state of charge, capacity and temperature; Battery events logs BMS protections; and the About page installs firmware updates over the air. Epoch Batteries Limited Warranty
11-Year Limited Warranty: 5 Years Free Repair or Replacement
- Years 1–5: free repair or replacement (Epoch chooses which)
- Years 6–11: 40% off MSRP on a replacement battery
Epoch Batteries warrants this product to the original end-user purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for the warranty period above, when it is installed, operated, charged, stored and maintained as its manual describes. The warranty is not transferable and ends if the product is sold or given to someone else.
How the 40% Discount Works
After the free coverage ends and through Year 11, if the battery has a covered defect Epoch offers a new replacement of the same model (or a current Epoch model of equal or greater capacity and function) at 40% off Epoch's MSRP on the date of the offer. The offer covers one replacement per defective battery, bought directly from Epoch, and you pay the discounted price, any tax and shipping.
When Coverage Starts
Coverage starts on the date of your original purchase. To confirm that date, register the product with Epoch within 90 days of purchase or keep your proof of purchase (an invoice or receipt showing the product, purchase date and seller). If you can provide neither, coverage starts on the manufacturing date recorded for the product's serial number. A repaired or replacement product is covered for the rest of the original warranty period.
What Is Not Covered
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship only. It does not cover damage or failure caused by installation, wiring or system design that doesn't follow the manual (including undersized or damaged cables, poor crimps, loose or corroded connections and incorrect fusing); reverse polarity, short circuits or faults in the connected electrical system; series or parallel connections beyond the manual's limits, or mixing batteries of different models, capacities, ages or states of charge; a product not secured as the manual requires; charging outside the manual's voltage, current or temperature limits; discharge above the rated current, or engine starting with a battery not listed as a starting or dual-purpose battery; over-discharge, storage fully discharged, or storage for more than 3 months without recharging; accidents, impact, fire, flood, power surges, submersion or exposure beyond the product's IP rating; opening, modification or repair by anyone other than Epoch or an Epoch-authorized provider; removed or altered serial numbers; normal capacity loss and wear consistent with age and use; or cosmetic damage that doesn't affect performance. Using chargers and other equipment from other brands does not affect coverage by itself.
Obtaining Warranty Service
Start a claim through the Epoch Warranty Portal before the warranty period ends, with the model, serial number, proof of purchase or registration, a description of the problem and any photos, videos or app screenshots. If the claim qualifies, Epoch issues an RMA number with packing and shipping instructions; do not ship a product without an RMA. Epoch inspects and tests the product, typically within 3–10 business days after it arrives, and then repairs or replaces it, or makes the discount offer where applicable.
Shipping
You pay to ship the battery to Epoch; Epoch pays to ship an approved warranty repair or free replacement back to you. For discount replacements you pay shipping on the replacement battery. Packaging must follow the RMA instructions (lithium batteries are regulated hazardous materials in transport).
Visit Epoch's Warranty Page to review the complete warranty terms (effective October 17, 2026).

Shipping is typically through freight carriers and the actual shipping time is contingent on your location and the specific warehouse dispatching your order. Please allow for a 1-3 business day processing period before shipment, and an estimated delivery time of up to 7 business days. Your confirmation email will include delivery details and we will send you a tracking number as soon as one is available. If you ordered several separate items, you may receive multiple tracking numbers. Once the item has been shipped, the freight service will contact you to coordinate the date and time of delivery. If you require any special accommodations during delivery please let us know as soon as possible and let the delivery company know when arranging the appointment.
Typically, orders will be dropped off either curbside or outside your front door or garage. It is your responsibility to bring the order inside or to its final destination and to remove any existing items.
Depending on the item, parts may be shipped in multiple boxes, and assembly may be required. When your order is delivered, please check that you have all pieces of the item and that nothing is damaged. If your order is damaged during transit and external damage is visible, note the damage immediately, write it on the delivery documents, take photos and/or videos, and refuse shipment. If there is no visible external damage, accept the package but note “subject to concealed damage” on the delivery documents. Any damage upon delivery needs to be reported within 24 hours of delivery or you may not be eligible for a refund. For additional information on submitting claims, as well as incorrect item exchanges, and replacements, please see our Refund Policy.
